AI inside a revenue org, without the theatre

February 2026·1 min read·Adeshina Olu, Managing Partner

The most expensive thing an early-stage revenue team can do with AI is build a demo. The second most expensive is bolt a chatbot onto the public website with no operating model behind it.

The quiet wins live in three places.

1. Research and account intelligence

An AI pipeline that turns a target account list into a structured brief, with evidence and source links, saves an SDR roughly six hours a week. That is the cleanest hour-recovery use case in the stack.

Constraints: every brief is reviewed by a human before it touches a sequence. Source links are included. Hallucinations are tracked.

2. CRM hygiene and routing

Nine out of ten CRMs we audit have decayed because no one owns the entropy. AI is well-suited to catching the entropy: missing fields, duplicated accounts, stalled opportunities, contacts that should be merged.

Constraints: the system flags. A human resolves. Automated merges without review are how data integrity dies.

3. Reporting and revenue summarisation

A weekly written revenue summary, drafted by AI from CRM, calendar, and call notes, then edited by the RevOps lead, replaces the most-skipped meeting in the company without losing the information.

Constraints: the summary is signed. The edits are visible. The team treats it as a document, not as a feed.

Where AI is just exposure

  • Anything that sends an unreviewed message to a customer.
  • Anything that makes a discount, refund, or contract decision without a human in the loop.
  • Anything that pretends to be a human in a sales conversation.

Each of these will eventually produce an incident that costs more than the entire AI program saved.

The operating rule

AI is leverage on a system that already works. It is not a system. If the underlying GTM motion is broken, AI scales the brokenness faster. Fix the motion. Then layer the leverage. In that order, every time.
